Frances accepts briefs in all areas of commercial and public law. She has previously acted in proceedings in the Supreme Court of NSW, NSW Court of Appeal and Federal Court of Australia.

Prior to coming to the bar, Frances worked as a solicitor and then a senior associate at Mallesons (formerly King & Wood Mallesons), as well as senior legal counsel for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. In 2021, she was an Associate to the Honourable Justice Stephen Gageler AC (as the Chief Justice then was) at the High Court of Australia.

Frances completed a Master of Laws from the University of Sydney in 2019, for which she received the Nancy Gordon Smith Postgraduate Prize for LLM coursework, awarded to the most proficient student at graduation. She has a Bachelor of Laws (Hons 1) from the Australian National University (for which she won the University Medal) as well as a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Art History.
