Nicola accepts briefs in all areas of commercial and public law. Nicola has particular expertise in State and Federal taxation matters, intellectual property (including patents, copyright and trade mark matters), class actions and administrative law.
Nicola is currently studying for a Master of Taxation at the University of Sydney, with an expected completion in 2026. Nicola has experience working for taxpayers and the Federal and State Commissioners of Taxation, in a wide variety of taxation matters.
Nicola was admitted as a solicitor in 2015 and called to the Bar in 2022. Before coming to the Bar, Nicola was a Senior Associate at Herbert Smith Freehills, where she worked in the Stamp Duty and Intellectual Property Disputes teams. Prior to that, Nicola was an Associate to Justice Jagot when her Honour was a judge of the Federal Court of Australia.
Nicola holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons I) from the University of New South Wales, where she received the University Medal for graduating first in her class in 2014. Nicola also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New South Wales, with a major in Physiology. Nicola was awarded a Master of Laws from the University of Melbourne in 2024, where she studied subjects in commercial law, intellectual property and taxation.
Nicola was the recipient of the 2021 Katrina Dawson Award. Nicola also received the Peteris Ginters Prize for the Ethics component of the Bar Exams in 2021.
