Shipra accepts briefs in all areas of law, but has a particular focus on class actions, competition law and public law. She is ranked by Legal 500 as a leading junior for both commercial disputes and competition law (2023- 2024), and by Doyle’s Guide as a recommended junior in competition law (2024) and class actions (2023).
Prior to being called to the Bar, Shipra practised at commercial firms in Sydney (Freehills) and London (Linklaters). She has served as Judicial Assistant (Associate) to Lord Justice Mummery in the Court of Appeal of England and Wales, and held positions as Visiting Researcher at Harvard Law School and Research Fellow at UNSW Law. From 2014 to 2018, she lectured in public law at UNSW.
Shipra is the author of Proportionality in Australian Constitutional Law, published by Federation Press in 2020. She holds a PhD in constitutional law, for which she received the 2019 Holt Prize. She is a co-convenor of the NSW Chapter of the Australian Association of Constitutional Law, and a member of the NSW Bar Association’s Diversity and Equality Committee.
